Maureen Taylor, The Photo Detective and the person behind Oldpvd.com is also new contributor to Artclectic New England. This month, another yummy bit of Providence history. She takes a look back at food shopping that might have you longing for the good ole days of living in Old PVD…..

Maureen Taylor, The Photo Detective created OldPVD.com, a geo-referencing project with crowdsourcing capabilities, to document the history of Providence, RI. It is for anyone interested in the history of Providence and serves as a tool for preservationists, historians, and educators. OldPVD.com is free, available for anyone to use and contribute to – check it out!

Anyone knows me knows that I love to volunteer and I love pretty houses. Well, I have been volunteering for one such lovely property for the past few months: the Lippitt House Museum. Recently, I sat down with Carrie Taylor – the director – to learn more about the history of the mansion and find out what kind of fun community events are coming up….
