Episode #12 - I {heart} Rhody, Old Roommates, WTF?!, Eating RIght - Adventures in Dining in the Ocean State, & Steve Volkmann

I started doing this podcast about a year ago and it was created to celebrate…spotlight…and elevate the variety of incredible arts, culture, lifestyle, and beauty found here in New England. One of the reasons I moved to RI – sight unseen – was due to what I discovered about Providence: an abundance of arts, culture, and the humanities and all of those things are important to all who live here. My goal is to explore and share some of my discoveries with you.

On Episode #12, local stand-up comic, Kristen Ferreira shares her musings about living the new now…I’ll also be sharing some music by local musician, Steve Volkmann…another 7 & 7 with a local podcasters Brian and Christina – hosts and producers of Old Roommates, and, a new segment from foodie, Jenny Currier. But first, my conversation with Erika Smith.  She has been exploring the Ocean State and has shared her discoveries on her blog, I {Heart} Rhody.

If you want to read up on some of Erika’s discoveries, be sure to check out the show notes for a link to her blog or follow her on Instagram at IheartRhody.

Next up, WTF – that is, What the Ferreira!? – it is a segment featuring Kristen Ferreira, local comic and cat lover, who shares some of her insights about living in Rhode Island. Today, a reflection on living the ‘new now’…..

Jenny Currier is a freelance writer, food tour guide, and publications coordinator at Brown University.  I interviewed her last month and this month she returns as a contributor!  Rhode Island might be the smallest state, but it comes with the biggest eats. From James Beard Award nominations to Bon Appetit's Top 10, Lil' Rhody punches way above its weight class in all things culinary. Jenny Currier fills us in on her latest dining adventures and her tips for your must-taste needs. Check out....Eating RIght - Adventures in Dining in the Ocean State!

To keep track of Jenny and her adventures, be sure to check out the link in the show notes.

And, now this month’s 7 & 7 – 7 questions in roughly 7 minutes featuring another podcast.  This month, I welcome Brian and Christina – hosts and producers of Old Roommates.

That’s all I have for this month’s show - Thanks to Erika Smith of I {heart} Rhody, Jenny Currier, Kristen Ferreira for contributing to this month’s show. Thanks to Brian and Christina of Old Roommates, too. I would love to hear from you, dear listener – comments and questions – if you got some, leave some on the show page.

Steve Volkmann is a local musician and on this month's show, I am included his song, New Direction….and, due to the continued requirement and great practice of staying home, be sure to support our local musicians by checking out their facebook pages for live performances.

Have a great day and thanks for listening!
